Location: Southeast Community Center, San Francisco, CA

ARTIST: Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle

After an extensive community engagement process the SFPUC has broken ground on a 45,000 sq. ft., LEED certified, three-story Community Center.

For the center’s community space the SFPUC commissioned artist Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle to create a large mural celebrating the past, present and future of the center and its relationship to the neighborhood. The artist sourced images from the Shades of Bayview archive at the San Francisco Public Library and is bringing those historic images home to the Bayview neighborhood in her work.
