After an extensive community engagement process the SFPUC has broken ground on a 45,000 sq. ft., LEED certified, three-story Community Center.
The SFPUC commissioned artist Phillip Hua to create an artwork for the main lobby stairwell. The artwork, Building a Better Bayview, celebrates the founders of the original Southeast Community Center.

The Southeast Community Center, located at 1550 Evans Street in San Francisco, will include a large, state-of-the-art outdoor amphitheater and special event spaces for meetings and social gatherings, recreation and dance classes, low-cost childcare services, and an interactive and engaging playground.
